     EARLY HEAD START CHILD CARE PARTNERSHIP • • • • • • • •
CCRC was awarded the Early Head Start Child Care Partnership (EHS-CCP) grant in 2015. The EHS-CCP program enhances and supports early learning settings by providing full-day/full year, seamless, and comprehensive services. These services meet the needs of low-income working families and those in school; increases access to high-quality, full day child care (including family child care); support the development of infants and toddlers through strong relationship-based experiences; and prepare them for the transition into Head Start and preschool.
The EHS-CCP is a unique opportunity which brings together the best of Early Head Start and child care by layering funding to provide comprehensive and continuous services to low-income infants, toddlers, and their families. The EHS-CCP grant serves as a learning laboratory for the future of high-quality infant/toddler care.
CCRC was awarded 176 EHS-CCP slots throughout Antelope Valley, San Fernando Valley, and Metro Los Angeles areas and works with 60 family child care providers and child care centers in the community.
The long-term outcomes of the program are:
■ A more highly educated and fully qualified early childhood workforce to provide high-quality infant/toddler care and education
■ Increased community supply of high-quality early learning environments and infant/toddler care and education
■ Well aligned early childhood policies, regulations, resources, and quality improvement support at national, state, and local levels
■ Improved family and child well-being and progress toward school readiness
CCRC San Bernardino County has partnered with San Bernardino County Preschool Services Department (the lead agency for the grant) to implement the EHS-CCP grant. San Bernardino County was awarded 120 EHS-CCP slots throughout the county and works with 35 family child care providers and child care centers in the community.
